CUBBIES CAMP & SOCCER SCHOOL CAMP

Camp Overview

Our Cubbies Camp (2 – 4 year old) and Soccer School Camp (5 – 8 year old) is specifically designed for the beginner player. We place an emphasis on introducing players to the very basics of soccer in a high-energy, fun environment through interactive and imaginary games.

Each session kicks off with a fun group warm-up, followed by activities led by your team’s coach (volunteer parent or paid staff) at your field. Teams will also participate in scrimmages within the Camp schedule.

SUMMER SERIES: CUSC SPEED & PERFOMANCE CAMP

Camp Mission

This four-day, intensive camp will utilize the most advanced training methods to help make the youth athlete faster, stronger and more resilient to injury. The camp-attendee will leave this camp with immediate performance improvement plus a knowledge of how to keep up with these practices to sustain continual improvement.

11:00-12:30am: U13-U15(Birth Year2004/2005/2006) – 30 Players Max
1:00-2:30pm: U16-U19 (Birth Year2000/2001/2002/2003) – 30 Players Max

Curriculum:

We will utilize our four-day schedule and program in the following

  1. Pillar Prep: The athlete will be cognizant of their body and how to prepare it for Game day (Game day means every time the athlete steps onto a field or into training – because every day is Game day)
  2. Movement Prep: A critical component to prehab or avoiding injury. We will utilize ladders, hurdles, mini-bands and other equipment and simple yet oft-ignored movements like skipping and bounding. Focusing on landing correctly, preventing knee valgus and posture.
  3. Plyometrics: An extension of movement prep, this will utilize activation of for the movements intended for the rest of the session.
  4. Medicine Ball: Explosion and core activation that will transfer to the field.
  5. Strength-Power: We will utilize resistance, both via load (weight), bodyweight, TRX-Bands and Exercise Bands to increase the players’ speed, power and explosiveness.
  6. Movement Skills: We will try to incorporate as much soccer ball work as possible. This will be explained in the programming, but we will focus on one of four directional outputs in this: Linear, Lateral, Multi-Directional and All Movement Planes.
  7. Energy Systems Development: A highly demanding cardio component, this will include circuits and might include Tabata and other methods.
  8. Regen: We will start the recovery process right away with a cooldown.

 

Day Breakdown

The sessions will vary, but a typical 90-minute session might look like this:

  1. 9-9:10am: Pillar Prep Including Balance Work and Foam Rolling
  2. 9:10-9:25am: Movement Prep Including Mini Band and Ladders to Prepare the Athlete for Skill Work
  3. 9:25-9:35am: Plyometrics Using Mini-Hurdles to Strengthen Ankle and Knee Support and Force Gluteal Recruitment.
  4. 9:35-10:00am: Strength Training Utilizing Hex Bar Deadlifts and Medicine Balls.
  5. 10:00-10:15am: Skill Work on the Field 
  6. 10:15-10:22am: Energy Systems Development to Maximize Cardiovascular  Output
  7. 10:22-10:30am: Regen Including Stretching and Breathing Movements

Strength Training will be a Power Day that will include:

  • Hex Bar Deadlifts (age group dependent)
  • Plyometrics
  • Explosive Movements
  • TRX Bands
  • Medicine Balls
