The 2000 USYS Red girls finished the first weekend of National League with a fantastic 3-0-1 record. The girls performed fantastically over the course of the 4 games, making the girls unbeaten in 11 National League games over the past 12 months.
Game #1: vs. Pipeline Pre Academy (MD)
2-0 win, goals from Saydie Holland and Paige Miller secured the 3 points.
Game #2: vs. Greater Seattle Surf (WA)
3-0 win, goals from Saydie Holland, Jillian DiTusa and Jenna Dominguez secured the win. 3 points secured!
Game #3: vs. Legends FC South (CAS)
2-2 Tie, two goals from Saydie Holland rescues a massive point for the girls. Tough game against a tough team... unfortunate not to win!
Game #4: vs. Celtic FC Premier (UT)
A 4-1 win over the team that was sitting in 1st place in the division. Celtic had registered 20 goals in their previous 3 games. The girls showed just why they were the best team in the country last year, they steamrolled Celtic 4-1, goals from Saydie Holland, Jenna Dominguez, Rachel Lutter, and Claudia Najera secured top spot for the girls! This was a complete performance from the girls!
All in all, a great weekend for the girls. Saydie Holland was a standout performer with 5 goals in 4 games, she sits at the top goal scorer charts in the league.
The 2nd weekend of games will happen January 18-21 in Lakewood Ranch, Florida.
