CUSC 'Alumni Spotlight' - MEGAN MAJEWSKI

CUSC Alumni Spotlight #7.

CAMPTON NATION!
It's with great pleasure to have Megan Majewski be our Alumni Spotlight for this week.  Meg was our team Captain for the 1999 USYS I Girls and currently plays her College soccer at Bemidji State University. Please enjoys Megan's words!

What’s your experience like playing for Bemidji State University?

My experience thus far has been great, I love playing soccer at Bemidji State. I love my teammates, the coaches, and the school. We have had a really successful season so far and that has been really fun to be a part of. I have learned so much in such a short time, which was sometimes stressful but has made me that much better.

How do you think Campton United SC helped you to get where you are now?

Campton has helped me in so many ways. Campton has been the only club I have ever played for. I had many different coaches and played many different positions which helped make me somewhat versatile, which has even been beneficial in college. Campton’s possession-based style of play has also given me an edge at the college level. Also, Campton’s competitive environment even at practice was a big factor for my development as a player.

What was your favorite moment from your time with Campton United SC?

It’s really hard to pick my favorite moment from Campton soccer because there have been so many. I have many memories from traveling, from games, and just time spent with my teammates. My family would host annual Campton Christmas parties with the team and that was always a really fun time to get away from soccer but still enjoy each other company, so those were some pretty special times.

What has been your favorite moment so far at Bemidji State University?

My favorite moment so far at Bemidji State becoming NSIC champions (conference champs) and going 17-0-1 in the regular season. Another special moment was getting my first collegiate assist which happened in overtime vs. the University of Minnesota-Mankato.

What advice would you give to players who have the goal to play at the next level in College?

When looking at schools you have to take soccer out of the equation. When you are at a school and visiting ask yourself, Would I go here if I wasn’t playing soccer? Would I be happy here? Understandably soccer is a huge part of the school you pick but you have to make sure you love the school enough on its own. Your decision cannot be solely based on athletics.
