CUSC 'Alumni Spotlight' - JENNA DOMBROWSKI

CAMPTON NATION!

It is an honor to feature Jenna Dombrowski in this weeks edition of CUSC Alumni Spotlight. Jenna was the Captain and starting center back on our National Championship Finalist 2000 USYS I team. Jenna is now a Freshman at Ball University and having a blast in her new soccer chapter! Enjoy Jenna's words!

What's your experience like playing for Ball State?

Playing for Ball State has been a very new and exciting experience for me. Being able to play and compete at the collegiate level and improve my game has been so fun and challenging so far. My freshman season is something that I will never forget.

How do you think Campton United SC helped you to get where you are now?

Campton United SC helped me get here by pushing me to always become a better player. At Campton, every practice was a competition. My teammates and I pushed each other to be the best that we could be every time we stepped onto the field, and that raised the level of my game tremendously. At Campton, we also played against some of the top competition in the country, and that environment prepared me to handle pressure and high levels of play.

What was your favorite moment from your time with Campton United SC?

My favorite moment from my time with Campton United SC was winning the national league in Florida. The National League had such great competition, and it brought out the best of our game every time we played. That moment was so special because our team had a great season, and to be rewarded for that was the best feeling. It was such a big accomplishment after coming off of an undefeated season. Winning the national league also meant getting a ticket to Nationals, which is definitely something I’ll always remember from my time at Campton.

What has been your favorite moment so far at Ball State?

My favorite moment at Ball State so far would have to be just playing in my first collegiate game. Everything became so real for me when I put on the jersey and was able to represent Ball State out on the field. Everything that I had worked for leading up to that moment, and I’ll always remember that feeling.

What advise would you give to players who have the goal to play at the next level in College?

Something I would say to players who have the goal to play at the next level in college is to never stop working at your game. The moment you become satisfied is the moment someone else is working at improving their game. If you always strive to get better and to improve at every game, every training session, and every workout, then your hard work will show when you play. Be your biggest critic and identify the places where you need to improve. Work hard at your strengths and work even harder at your weaknesses. The journey is hard, but it’s worth it!

Thank you, Campton, for helping me get to where I am today, and for giving me the best memories with the best people!
