Grassroots Program Set to Begin Spring 2015

We are pleased to announce that will be hosting a new program starting in the spring 2015, Campton United Grassroots Soccer League (CGSL). The CGSL will be open to all players in the Fox Valley community including St. Charles, Batavia, Geneva, South Elgin, and in Campton Township plus we we will welcome players from Elburn, Wasco, Burlington, Sugar Grove and Maple Park.  The goal of the CGSL is to apply the same dedication, passion, and professionalism to a grassroots program as we have done for over 25 years with our competitive program (travel soccer).  We believe it is time that we open our doors to all players in the community by providing a grassroots program (recreation) that is second to none.  Our league will provide what others cannot and continue to provide for the community what we always have, a top notch soccer program.

The CGSL will be open to all players eventually in ages U5-U14.  For the 2015 Spring season, we will be hosting a U6 Developmental Coed division and a U7 Boys and a U7 Girls division.  Our U6 division will play 3v3 without goalkeepers. Our U7 division will play 4v4 with goalkeepers (3 field players and a goalkeeper).  Our league will be centered around the best practices theories put in place by US Youth Soccer.

We care about soccer at Campton and the development of each player regardless if they're a travel player or a grassroots (recreation) player. Soccer is the most popular sport among children in the United States and we feel it is absolutely necessary to produce a program that will develop more players and develop parents into good teachers of the game for our young players.

Please check out more information about this new program by visiting the Grassroots page.  If you have questions regarding the program, please contact JJ Ruane, Director of Youth Development.
