Campton United Soccer Club proudly announces Phil Knorr as our new Boys’ Director of Coaching.  We’re excited to welcome Phil, who brings a wealth of coaching and soccer knowledge to our boys’ program.  Technical Director, Chad Flanders said, “Phil is a really experienced coach who comes into the club having all the skills we look for in a coaching director.  Beyond the on-field coaching, teaching and his experiences in the upper levels of the game, Phil has fantastic ability to connect to players and families.  All these strengths combined are what led us to target him as our next Boys’ Director of Coaching.”

A native of Columbus Ohio, Phil relocated to the Chicagoland area and served 3 years as Assistant Director of Coaching for Cary Soccer Association.  Phil currently holds a USSF “B” coaching license, is an Olympic Development Program Coach (ODP) and an IYSA Coaching Education Instructor.

When reflecting on joining Campton, Phil responded, "I couldn't be more excited to begin the next chapter of my career at such a well-respected organization such as Campton United; that name alone is synonymous with excellence. Be that in daily training sessions, league or State Cup competitions, and even The Midwest Cup Tournament, your club has a tremendous footprint in the Chicagoland area. I've only known Campton to represent the highest of standards when it comes to player and coaching development, creating strong community relationships, and competing at a high level through State and Regional play. I am looking forward to proudly representing the legacy of all who have come before me."

The boys’ program at CUSC has thrived, especially recently with the entrance into the Midwest Developmental League (MDL), and overall top competitive play.  The program’s success is evidenced by the recent 16 Campton players who rostered on the 2014 State Championship Team (Wheaton Academy) and the 4th place State finisher (Streamwood).  Campton boys were represented at 19 different High Schools in the Western Suburbs this fall.  We anticipate Phil will continue the momentum and success of the boys’ program under his capable leadership.
