Congratulations to the Campton United U13 Girls Navy, who won the Chipotle State Cup Championship against Eclipse Select at the Polo Grounds in Naperville. 

In a rematch of two teams, who had a heated battle in their Midwest Regional League game earlier this spring, Campton went down 0-1 to a penalty kick in the 2nd minute of the match.  However the girls were determined not to let that determine the outcome of the State Championship.  Directly after the Penalty Kick goal by Eclipse, Campton went down the field on the kick off and scored to even the match with an opportunistic one timestrike on goal by their Striker.  Once the game was back to even on the score line Campton took control and never looked back.  Campton earned their 2nd goal with an excellent effort off of a corner kick at the near post just before half time.  In the second half of the game the Campton girls did well to maintain posession of the ball and to limit the chances by Eclipse to counter attacks.  Late in extra time with Eclipse pushing all their players forward, Campton was able to execute a quick strike and put the game away by advancing the ball nearly 80 yards with several quick passes and determined dribbling.  This led to finsihing a 1v1 chance against the Goalie for a final score of 3 to 1.

The Campton United U13 Navy Girls will represent Illinois at the USYS Region II championships in Dayton, Ohio from June 21-25.  Teams from all 14 states in Region II will be competing for one of 4 spots at the National Championships later this summer.
